Miniscus Transplant I had torn some carteladge in my knee in May of 2000 and didnt get surgery until September of 2000. They did a repair by aurthoscopic and i didnt get rid of the pain. SOmetimes the pain was so bad i couldnt stand it or stand on my leg. The good knee is getting bad because of the none use of the bad knee. In 2003 i ws told i may be a miniscus transplant canidate so in February of 2003 i had another surgery on the same knee and done the same way to cleanup and see if i was a canidate for a miniscus transplant. Which my doctor said i was and in November of 2003 i had the transplant done on that same knee. (3rd surgery) and i am told i will be in therapy and recovery for up to 8-12 months. I had surgery in November of 2003 and today still can only put 20% of my weight on my knee... I see other knee surgery people up and back to them old selves after just 4 weeks... I wish i woud have had that for myself. My good knee is so bad now because of the lack of use with my bad knee im afraid i will have to get the so call good knee fixed. I will admit although my knee is stiff it doesnt hurt like it used to but then again i cant walk on it either to test it out. My doctor is wonderful though and he has a website that he specializes in knee work.
