swollen knees after surgery To Tim and everyone else in this community. Tim you made me laugh because I always want to have a tap put in my knees to drain the fluid. I had meniscus surgery on both knees Oct 2003 and now have swollen painful knees that catch and lock all the time. I also developed Fibromyalgia from the constant pain and stress to my body. My last MRI was done with an arthrogram to see if anything is causing the constant swelling and pain. It showed a differential diagnosis of suprapateller plica syndrome which is something like chronic synovitis. Maybe some of you may also have something wrong with the plica in the knee joints. I'm not sure yet what the doctors are going to do ( i see them Mar 7/05) but maybe, just maybe this is the answer and they can solve it. Hope this may help any one.
