  • down for the count but able to keep going
you can call me DUB I was snowboarding at stevens pass in WA and took a hard fall in which my leg caught a cut off tree causing both knees to nearly touch (keep in mind that my feet are stationary and havent moved closer) Down and hurting i knew that i was injured but couldnt let my friends down on the first run of the day. I gave myself a 60 second breather and forced my self on my way. If you know the area, i was just starting down the back side off of TYE and hugging the right side. I continued down the hill with a lot of pain but "nothing i couldnt handle" after that run i headed back to the front side and headed to Skyline, the longest lift on the hill. As soon as i started down this run, i noticed that i couldnt land any jumps!!! Yes i was so dumb i was actually trying to hit jumps. Dont think i suck either. I have been riding this hill for over five years and won a snowboard at a boarderX event. I am not no gramma rider. I am an active 18 y/o man. After that run i decided to call it a day and apparently a good choice. The next day i had x rays and then a day later an MRI. I had torn through my ACL all the way and most of the way through my MCL. THe doc said that he is supprised that i was able to make it down by myself let alone keep riding for three more runs. Three weeks later here i am after surgery in pain for the second night in a row. Luckily i got some good pain pills. Most of the dammage was caused from the impact it self but riding and having my knee give way every time i tried landing didnt help with the pain either. Anyway the moral is dont let your friends rush you after an injury. Give yourself the good minute and a half you need to go rip shit up again. none of this is made up or streched in any way. There is no need to lie if you are a straight badass like me
