My son (just turned 16) was diagnosed with ocd last week in his left knee. The first dr. recommends surgery, and talks as if sports are entirely out of the question in the future. We are going to a sports medicine ortho tomorrow. My son plays lacrosse, and says quitting is not an option. We are being hopeful that the 2nd opinion offers better news--his growth plates are not closed and since being in a brace and on crutches the swelling and stiffness has gown away. He says he is ready to play in his summer league-we are not letting him. Does anyone have any suggestions? He is 16, and i can't imagine him not playing lacrosse- thanks, stephanie
