  • From the brink to Wasting away
My name is graham hill and im 19 years old.Back in january 2002 i was playing football for my county in england(cornwall u18) when my injury happend, at the time i was being scouted by a number of professional clubs in england included a few premiership teams such as spurs and southampton. i had played a excellent game scoring twice when a 16 stone 6ft 5 goalkeeper landed on my knee whilst i had gone up for a header. when this had happened i swear to this day that i heard a snapping noise as the keeper had landed on my knee!i dreaded to look at the damage as i thought my bone would be sticking through my footie socks, as it happens it wasnt and i decided that i would try to get off the floor, but couldnt. i was strectherd off and went to get showerd up thinking id just bruised my leg or somthing silly like that. later that night i got home i became increasinglly uncomfortable with my knee. by the next day i couldnt move my left leg and get out of bed, i couldnt walk on it either. so as soon as i could hop on 1 leg i went off to the doctor. and to cut a long story short for you till this day i am still waitng for an appointment to see any sort of person who could help put my knee right!! i have been in pain for almost two years now and no1 has helped me, not even physiotherpists. So i have gone from on the brink of professional football to 13 stone with a beer belly and a pain in the knee that will never go away. my football is now finished and i dont know what to do with myself. the docter told me that i had done SLIGHT ligament damage behind my knee cap. after 2 years i dont call that slight damage do you?i cant even go to the shops without moaning about my knee hurting so if any1 can help me out there with my on going injury i would love to hear from before it really is too late for me. Graham Hill
