  • TKR Woes
I had a tkr of the right knee and the dr. sent me home after 3 days, with scheduled outpatient therapy. My job requires lots of kneeling, so the dr. had me off work 3 months. Pain continued, 4 months later x-rays showed the replacement was pistoning in the lower leg! Dr. said the bone cement didn't hold and it required another tkr. This time he put in 2 screws in the lower joint and had me stay in the hospital 6 days for in-patient therapy. Another 3 months off work. It's now been 2 years, and the knee is still swollen and painful when moved laterally. Also I came out of the 2nd surgery with tingling and burning in the right heel. Later testing showed sensory neuropathy. Bummer!
