  • bilateral tkr having heel pain
I bit the bullit and had both knees replaced on June 13-06. I am overweight and had been told to loose weight and wait till I was 60 by several doctors but the bone on bone convinced my current doctor it was needed. I stayed in the hospial about six days and was moved to a skilled nursing unit forseven more days before going home. I have pt come to my home three times a week but and concerned because I still cannot get into or out of the bed alone. I realize I may be expecting too much to soon. I am able to walk with my walker and go to bathroom alone but that is about all I can do. I am somewhat depressed at the loss of my independence and having to ask for help. I wonder if everyone feels this way. I am also scared I will run out of pain medicine.I just wonder if I am on track with my recovery. My heels are extremly tender and that is almost as bad as the pain in knees.Any suggestions on helping this would be welcome.
