Miami's Hardaway Out With Jammed Knee

December 30, 1999 |  MIAMI (AP) -- Miami Heat point guard Tim Hardaway, sidelined the last 13 games with a jammed right knee, said he will not be able to practice for at least the next five days.

Hardaway practiced last Friday with the Heat for the first time since re-injuring his knee Nov. 23 against Atlanta. He has been on the injured list since Dec. 1, but thought he might be ready to play this weekend.

Hardaway said the knee did not feel right after Tuesday's practice and he will take the next week and a half to let it rest.

Because there is no structural damage to Hardaway's knee, surgery is not necessary.

The Heat were 8-4 without Hardaway entering Wednesday night's game against the Utah Jazz.
