MIAMI (AP) -- Miami Dolphins tight end Troy Drayton underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee that caused him to miss Monday night's game against the New York Jets.Team doctors performed surgery Wednesday to repair a lateral meniscal tear. Drayton's status for the remainder of the season has not been determined.
``It was unexpected,' Dolphins coach Jimmy Johnson said. ``He's had swelling off and on all year. We felt like he could fight through it, and that's what he wanted to do. But it was bothering him.'
Drayton has caught 32 passes for 299 yards and a touchdown. He had surgery on the same knee in March 1998.
