Just had bilateral knee replacement 6 weeks and two days ago. Finally feeling like a new person. It has been rough but I am getting through it. Just wanted to help anyone thinking of having both done at one time. Thanks

Hi Friends,

Previously, kneereplacement surgeries were reserved for very old patients who were severely crippled by osteoarthritis. "Now patients in their 40s and 50s are experiencing an earlier onset of osteoarthritis that affects their daily lives.

I'm sorry to hear about your knees. How severe was your pain before you had surgery? I think that you bring up a very valid point - it is important to not only consult your doctor about surgery but also understand the possible complications. I hope the braces help with your arthritis

Had Bilaterial Knee surgery 4 years ago . Out walking cracked Patella right knee wore a rubber brace and it healed . 4 months later Crack left patella this time Doctor has me wearing a full leg brace for 8 weeks . Problem is he said itf bad arthitis in both knee caps due to loss of blood circulation to the caps from the bilaterial surgery. Gee Thanks for telling me this would happen down the road doc. Also he said They have not perfected Patells surgery as of yet 2012 Great. He's having me fitted for knee braces to protect my knees . I may have put up with pain 4 years ago if I knew what I know now . Get all the facts first before surgery .
