If you end up with a physical therapist, passive motion treatment is supposed to be a great way to reduce pain and swelling (and studies are currently looking into the permanent positive effects including the possibility of increasing flexibility over the long haul).
Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear that! Is this pain also similar to pain you felt after your first medial meniscectomy? It's normal to feel pain in the first few weeks after a surgery like this, and normally pain medications do the trick. But since you don't like pain meds and you're more worried about the cause of the pain, the best thing you can do is talk to your doctor on Friday. As long as you kept the swelling down through icing, your doctor may be able to recommend techniques for reducing pain or you may even be out of the worse part by then.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help! If you have any questions about my answer or if I didn't really answer you, please don't hesitate to respond

I had Meniscus tear back in Nov of 2010 had medial meniscectomy in May of 2011 and again Feb 2012 Im only 7 days post surgery. I am still having the same kind of pain as before the 2nd surgery. I have pain under my patella on the outside of my knee and well now it feels like my kne needs to pop. I am not a big fan of pain meds and refuse to take them. I go back to the doctor on friday for my first check up. The next step for me is a meniscus transplant. I dont know how to make my knee feel better.
