Hi JT, I’m sorry to hear about your knee problems. I’m no expert, but I just did some online research and found some info that hopefully can help. This bit, from an article on microfracture rehabilitation, says “Range-of-motion is usually initiated early on after surgery. However, if the area of microfracture treatment is on the kneecap or within its groove, then motion will be limited for several weeks.” So maybe that explains why you aren't able to bend your knee yet. Here’s a link to the full article. Also, here is a list of exercises you can try to recover from a microfracture, from an orthopedic clinic. Hope this helps a bit… How goes the recovery? I hope you’ve made some progress over the last week!! Lisa

I'm 21 and dx with ocd requiring microfracture on left knee. procedure was done without complication 5 days ago and was discharged to home without crutches or cpm.  only instructions where elevate+ice and daily aspirin.  my knee will not bend..I try but it just feels as if the clot is preventing my knee from moving. I'm in a lot of pain, my doctor advises me that it should come around but I am very leery... Any idea why my knee will not bend? Does anyone have any advice for any exercises I could do to increase range of motion? Any suggestions for me would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
