Popliteal Cysts

Symptoms

A popliteal cyst causes an aching pain in the back of the knee and can present a tangible mass or lump. The lump is soft and may be painless. If it happens to burst, the cyst will leak fluid and may be very painful. Tenderness around the back of the knee, especially during exercise, may indicate a popliteal cyst.
